A Holistic Acupuncture Practice and Wellness Center in the Sarasota/Bradenton Area

Medical Massage, Manual Therapy, Tui Na

MEDICAL MASSAGE:

An outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific ailments. The patient presents with a diagnosis and massage techniques are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the practitioner with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment.   There is no one technique that is medical massage. It is taking whatever style of massage you do or know and applying that technique to various conditions.

MANUAL THERAPY:

Manual therapy is a clinical approach utilizing skilled, specific hands-on Physical Therapy techniques, including joint and tissue mobilizations, used to assess and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain; increasing range of motion; reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function. It is procedures by which the hands directly contact the body to treat the articulations and/or soft tissues.

TU INA:

An integral component of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tui Na literally translates as “push pull.” Tui Na utilizes deep pressure to move the Qi and blood within the meridians to disperse stagnation and balance the body.
